Getting the best from organisations and the individuals who work in them requires skill, values, and a passion for not settling for ‘good enough’.

I have been providing consultancy services for over 20 years. Whilst working full time, I regularly found myself responding to individual requests for consultancy and support from organisations and managers who had heard about the quality and impact of my work. I set up Because It Matters Ltd in 2015 because I want to spend more time bringing my authenticity, my passion for equality, and my commitment to inquisitive learning to all of the work that I do.

I know through experience how authentic and purposeful leadership and robust, informed governance can transform organisation culture. And I know the unstoppable contributions individuals can make to their organisation, if they are supported to unlock their potential and apply their energy and passion.

I always have my focus on people. I have worked with trustees, directors and NHS governors, senior leaders and frontline teams, and patients and service users, to renew their purpose and transform culture and strategy with bespoke solutions that deliver on defined objectives.

I specialise in working with organisations and their people in the third sector and in health and social care, with a particular focus on governance, leadership, planning, team building, and getting the very best from individuals and their organisations.
